In the weekly email I sent out to my clients today, I used the expression waifs and strays.
I was using it to describe those small forgotten savings accounts. It popped into my head and I thought it seemed appropriate.
I wrote the words without checking the spelling at the time.
It didn’t even occur to me to do so because I just pulled them from my memory.
But reading my email through after it had sent I suddenly wondered if I’d got the spelling of ‘waifs’ correct.
I doubted myself so I looked it up.
Waifs and strays. Yep it was correct.
I was correct.
Lesson learned? Trust my instincts.
