Monday. I quite like it. I really hope you do too (if not what are you doing about it?).
The start of a fresh new week. New beginnings 52 weeks a year!
I know how it feels to dread Monday morning. Even Sunday evening. That’s horrible.
When I was in my early 20s for a few months I got up dreading work not just Monday but every day of the week. At the time it felt like it would never end.
My recipe for starting a new week is an early morning run. Up and out by 6am. For me, it’s the best part of the day. I love this time of the year.
I run for about 30 minutes, not very far, just enough to get my heart and lungs going and give me some ‘happy chemicals’.
I’m strictly a ‘naked runner’ – definitely no headphones to distract me – I want to hear the birds, bees and the wind, even the distant hum of the cars.
I know myself well enough by now to understand that running is part of my DNA.
Getting out of bed, putting on my running shoes and stepping out of the front door is just what I need to do, so I do it.
What about you?
