It’s not easy sticking to something is it?
My daily blogging hero, Seth Godin, wrote his 7000th blog on the 6th November 2017. Which means today would be number 8181. That’s over 22 years! Impressive.
Thinking about it though, I’ve been writing something every day for at least as long.
Just not publicly, of course, because that’s not easy.
I write daily in my journal or a notebook. Even on scraps of paper when I suddenly feel the urge to write something down. I’m always scribbling thoughts and ideas. But that’s so much easier than writing a daily blog because it’s private. No fear of judgement.
I can write something ridiculous in the moment that is important to me then but which I wouldn’t dream of sharing with anyone. Especially someone I don’t know or have never met.
But really, does it matter?
Probably not, but if that’s the case why bother to post at all. Why not just keep it private and tucked away in a notebook in a drawer?
I guess my jury is out on that one at the moment. I felt an urge to write this post today for no particular reason except I was aware, feeling slightly guilty if I’m honest, that I’ve missed the last 9 days of my ‘daily blog’.
Have a good one.
